Munidasa Mawatha, Ahangama 80650 - Sri Lanka

Tel: +94761404288

Spend a relaxing day in a shady place, on one of the local beaches. The beaches of Ahangama are stunning and without any doubt some of the best in the south. Most of the little hidden beaches in the area come with nothing much but lovely sand and crystal clear waters, in this case a snack box can be arranged.

A few of them, such as “The Wild Beach”, offer a simple lunch, cooked under the swaying coconut trees - simple but very tasty!

Explore the wild life of Sri Lanka by visiting the National Park of Udawalawa. Elephants, peacocks, water buffalos, the national bird of Sri Lanka and many more species inhabit the park promising  a unique experience.

The property manager can arrange for you a day tour on a Jeep Safari 4x4 with a snack box of your preference.

Get an introduction to the local temple, and to Buddhism in general. The Nawarathnepitiya  temple is no more than a short walk away from The Deco House and a visit to the temple will help you understand the philosophy behind their religion.

Around 80% of the population in Sri Lanka is Buddhists and they are very happy to share their beliefs. The temple is open to everybody, whether you are there to practice your religion or simply enjoy the silence.

As a nearby neighbor to the Dharmarama School, we have been invited by the principal, to join the classes at the college. Inspired by earlier guests, we have taken it on, as one of the things to do while staying at The Deco House.

The aim is simple to give the local kids a lesson of living in foreign way, practice their English when asking their well prepared questions and in return - pass on to the guests, how the school system works in Sri Lanka.
It has turned out to be a great benefit for all.

Surfing has become one of the main attractions in Sri Lanka. In less than 10 minutes, a tuk tuk can take you to some of the best surf points on the south. Kabalana beach, Medigama and Welligama are all on top of the list when it comes to “riding the waves” and all are offering surf lessons as well as board rental.

The high season for surfing on the south is between December - April.

The blue whales - and the biggest creature on this planet, are to be seen off the coast of Mirrissa.

The whale watching has become extremely popular over the years, so in respect of the whales, our recommendation goes to “Raja and the Wales”.

Breakfast, water, and fruits will be served throughout your stay on the boat and you’re being well looked after.
Leaving The Deco House at 5.30 am and returning at around noon.

The hill county in Sri Lanka is best known without any doubt for its tea plantations.

Most people travel to the hill country to get a glimpse of the stunning sceneries around Kandy, Ella or Nuwara Eliya - and to experience the process of tea making by paying a visit to one of the many tea factories in the area.

However - should you for some reason not be able to do the climb, then don’t hesitate to pay a visit to the white tea plantation. Only 15 min away from The Deco House you can get a nice introduction to the world of tea.

Pay a visit to the the old dutch fort in Galle.  The fort has a colorful history, worth while looking into, and The Deco House provides you with a couple of good books, to prepare yourself for the visit. The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage.

Enjoy what the fort has to offer today - the large number of shops, the great restaurants and the historical museums, or find your way down the little narrow streets, and get lost in the past.
